Recruitment Privacy Notice

Your name, contact details, the position applied for, your asbestos and employment experience, safety certifications and training, your answers about travelling to site and accommodation, and any evidence documents you choose to upload.

We do not ask for your full home address at this stage, and date of birth is only collected where Erith has recorded a lawful business requirement for it. Date of birth is never used to rank or screen applicants.

We use this information to assess your application against job-related requirements for the role, to contact you about it, and to meet health, safety and competence obligations. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in recruiting suitably competent people, and taking steps at your request prior to entering a contract of employment.

BUSINESS DECISION REQUIRED: Erith must confirm the final lawful basis wording and the statutory retention position before this notice is published.

Your answers are checked for completeness and compared against objective, job-related criteria configured by authorised Erith recruitment administrators. This produces a transparent, explained category — never an opaque score — which is used only to help a human reviewer prioritise their reading.

No hiring decision is made automatically. Every shortlist, progression or rejection decision is made by an authorised Erith reviewer.

Only authenticated Erith staff holding a Recruitment Reviewer or Recruitment Administrator role. Access is enforced by the database itself, and views, downloads, exports and decisions are recorded in an audit log.

Unsuccessful applicant information is retained for the period configured in Erith's approved recruitment policy, after which it is deleted or anonymised automatically. Where a record is subject to an authorised legal or administrative hold, it is retained until the hold is released and the reason is recorded.

You may request access to the information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to or restrict its processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
